Material damage mechanisms in power plants: Review and Mitigation
€1,390.00 excl. VAT
Starting her career as a project engineer at the European Space Agency (ESA) in the “Human and Space flight operations” department, Céline was involved in work for the International Space Station. Moving on to the Materials Technology department at ENGIE Laborelec in Brussels, she is currently involved in consulting work for conventional coal- and gas-fired power plants, including root cause analysis, lifetime assessments, aging studies, failure analysis, and boiler scan quality audits.
This training will provide an overview of the most common damage mechanisms observed in a power plant. After understanding the different mechanisms, we will go through the different techniques (NDT) to monitor them and the possibility to perform some destructive analysis in order to determine the failure mechanism. The results of those test are required and used to determine the remaining lifetime of an installation. At the end of the session, the participants are facing some practical cases that they have to investigate to determine the failure mechanism.
- Integrity assessment and failure analysis: brief explanation of damage mechanisms and example.
- Overview of available non-destructive and destructive testing.
- Remaining life determination: application of boiler life management.
- Become an expert: Practical cases to solve to determine the failure mechanisms.
Introduction for new employee in power plant/industry or maintenance personnel.
Please note that the mentioned dates are subject to change if the required number of participants is not met. If interested in the training courses but the proposed dates do not suit your schedule and would like to be enrolled on a waiting list, or if you would like a dedicated session for your team (on-demand), please get in contact at email@example.com.
When organizing a hybrid delivery session, the training course will have attendees joining a live-classroom session (hosted at our offices in Linkebeek, Belgium, assuring the necessary health & safety measures) and attendees joining the same session but in a remote live-online manner.
For attendees joining a live-classroom session at our location, an extra fee of 60 EUR/training day will be added, covering the catering aspects of the training delivery.
